Windows operating systems have seen additions of several highly useful features throughout the evolution cycle of the OS. From Windows XP to Windows 7 was the most major leap that the Redmond company ever made, both in aesthetics and in the feature set that the operating system had to offer. Jump lists, aero Snap and dynamic search are just some examples that one can quote in this context.

 

However, that doesn’t mean that highly revered features didn’t exist prior to that. Windows XP was the first operating system to introduce Hibernation, and beyond doubt, that was one of the most useful power features that the operating system came with, allowing the user to save the state of the whole machine when powering it down, and consequently resuming work much faster than a cold start.

 

With Windows 8, a lot of things changed in comparison to the previous iterations, and not just in terms of the new Modern UI. The operating system also saw the addition of several new features (take the Ribbon UI, for instance), and removal of others. However, as the OS was built with a tablet and desktop approach, it went for a hybrid approach, thereby resulting if certain areas of the offered features getting hidden despite remaining a part of the operating system.

 

Within power options, Shut Down is the biggest example, where the removal of the Start Orb resulted in a much more complicated process for powering down your machine. Granted, you won’t want to power down a tablet very often, but if you’re a desktop or notebook user, that certainly was annoying. Another similarly missing power option (apparently) is Hibernate, which, although not readily visible, is still a part of the operating system, and you just have to enable it.

Step 1: In your system tray, click the battery icon and select More power options from the panel that pops up.

 

Step 2: In the power options window, select either “Choose what closing the lid does” or “Choose what the power button does” from the left panel.

 

 

Step 3: In the next window, click the blue text that says “Change settings that are currently unavailable”

 

 

Step 4: At the bottom of the windows, a new set of options will become available. Check the box next to Hibernate and click Save changes.

 

That’s it – Hibernate will now show up in power options. Pull up the Charms bar using the Win + C combination, go to Settings and click the Power button. You’ll see that Hibernate has been added to the list, allowing you to save your system state at any time and resume where you left off.

Steps to downgrade your iPhone from iOS 7 to iOS 6.1.4 and iOS 6.1.3.

This procedure is a manual way, thus avoiding the problems and errors when performing a restore directly.

Step 1. Put your iPhone into DFU mode.

?Downloading Files and Installing Drivers?

Download the root.zip from here.
Extract the zip file by right clicking and selecting "Extract All," or by using an extracting program of your choice.
Open the folder and double click the driver file labeled "GT-p7510_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0-Escape.exe"
Install the driver. Its pretty much just Next, Next, Install, and Exit when its done.

?Connecting the Device?
Turn on USB Debugging by going to Settings>Applications>Development and checking USB debugging. Click Okay to confirmPower off the device by holding the power button and selecting Power offPut the device into Downloading modeHold the Vol Down button (the left Volume button) and then hold the Power button as well.
Keep holding until you see two icons. First youll see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 logo and then the icons will show up. Let go.
Press the Vol Up button (the right Volume button) to select Downloading mode.
Connect the device to your computer with the USB cable.

?Flashing a Custom Recovery?
Go into the same root folder as before.
Double click the root application named "Odin3_v1.85.exe"
Select PDA Double click the clockworkmod recovery file labeled "recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5" to select it. Click Start
Once it is complete, you can close the program

?Completing the Root?
Disconnect your USB cable
On your device, turn off USB Debugging by going to Settings>Applications>Development and unchecking USB debugging
Plug your USB cable back in
On your computer, go to the same root folder as before and transfer the zip file labeled "Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip" to your device. Dont put it inside any folder.
Confirm that it was transferred by clicking inside the device folder
Power off the device by holding the power button and selecting Power off
Put the device into Recovery mode
Hold the Vol Down button (the left Volume button) and then hold the Power button as well.
Keep holding until you see two icons. First youll see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 logo and then the icons will show up. Let go.
Press the Vol Down button (the left Volume button) to highlight the left icon.
Press the Vol Up button (the right Volume button) to select Recovery mode.
You should see that you are in ClockworkMod Recovery. If not, start over
Use the volume buttons to highlight "Install zip from SD card" and hit the Power button to select it.
Use the volume buttons to highlight "Choose zip from SD card" and hit the Power button to select it.
Use the volume buttons to highlight "Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip" and hit the Power button to select it.
Use the volume buttons to highlight "Yes - Install..." and hit the Power button to select it.
When it finishes, the last line should say "Install from sdcard complete."
Use the volume buttons to highlight "*****Go Back*****" and hit the Power button to select it.
Hit the Power button to select "reboot system now".
Your device will reboot.
Youre now rooted!

When you install drivers on your computer (from manufacturers, OEM, Windows Update or 3th-party driver download software, etc.), some of the drivers can work properly, while some may not. All drivers and system files must be digitally verified by Microsoft, and Windows won’t run the unsigned drivers on both 32-bit or 64-bit system. This is the “driver signature enforcement”. To increase security,

Microsoft has introduced the driver signature enforcement in Windows OS, including Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. This restricted feature has strict limitations on driver signing, especially in Windows 8, 8.1, and 10. Windows will alert you if a driver is not signed or is not certificated with one of the messages like.

here is a solution for you to temporary turn off Driver Signature Enforcement to install unsigned driver:

Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.

Then head into Advanced options.

In the Advanced Options window, choose Startup Settings.

Click the Restart button on the Startup Settings screen to reboot your computer again.

After restart in Startup Settings windows, press the F7 key on your keyboard to select “Disable driver signature enforcement“.

Your PC will then reboot. Proceed to install your unsigned drivers. During the installation procedure, Windows will inform you that can’t verify the publisher of this driver software. Just ignore the warning message and choose “Install this driver software anyway” to complete the installation.

Keep in mind that after the next restart, Driver Signature Enforcement will be automatically enabled again to prevent new drivers from being installed, but Windows will keep using any unsigned drivers you’ve already installed.
